Electrical Engineering Manager

The Electrical Engineering Manager reports to the Chief Product Officer and is responsible for direction, strategy, planning and implementation of Delta’s Electrical Engineering and Electrical Manufacturing operations, including effective implementation of the Design Control Procedure.

Responsibilities
  • Represent Delta Elevator’s core values of Integrity, Service and Quality in relationships with both internal staff members and external customers and suppliers.
  • Follow Delta Elevator policies and procedures, Employee Handbook, and Health & Safety Manual guidelines.
  • Manage Electrical Hardware development process and employees.
  • Manage Electrical Manufacturing process and employees.
  • Manage Electrical Software development process and employees.
  • Manage Technical Support employees for effective field support.
  • Direct Electrical manufacturing production and quality systems.
  • Monitor industry trends and Delta’s role in the industry.
  • Monitor relevant Codes and standards and ensure Delta remains within conformance.
  • Manage scheduling and design of standard elevator electrical system for jobs.
  • Manage new product development and feature enhancement projects.
  • Achieve performance objectives (KPI targets).
  • Oversee the purchasing process for electronic subcontractor supply chain.
  • Develop methods of continuous improvement to departmental product and processes.
  • Ensure the safety of employees in accordance with Delta’s safety program.
Authority
  • Halt shipment or installation of unsafe, nonconforming or environmentally damaging product.
  • Disposition of non-conforming produce per procedure Q8.3.
  • Spend up to $5,000 without approval.
Qualifications
  • Post-Secondary education in electrical / electronics / software.
  • Experience managing hardware and software development teams.
  • Seven (7) years of progressive experience
Skills
  • Ability to work in groups and independently.
  • Self-motivation.
  • Effective communication both oral and written.
  • Ability to be an effective supervisor.

Elevating Devices Mechanic Apprentice

Delta Elevator is currently seeking enthusiastic applicants to join our growing team of Elevating Devices Mechanic Apprentices in the Kitchener and Mississauga office.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education or experience in electrical/electronics
  • Self-motivated
  • Able to work in groups and independently
  • Eager to learn and grow with the company
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Capable of heavy lifting
  • Knows how to use construction equipment and hand tools
  • Knowledgeable about building construction practices
  • Experience working at heights and with scaffolding

Successful candidates with sufficient qualifications will be registered with the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) as an Elevating Devices Mechanic – Trainee (EDM-T). This is a four-year apprenticeship program leading to a secure and well-paying career.
