Emergency Procedure
CALL 911...if the situation is life-threatening or there is potential for serious injury.
Call Delta Elevator at 1-800-265-6348 or 519-745-5789 in the Kitchener-Waterloo area.
Call us immediately if there is:
- A passenger trapped in an elevator
- No elevator working in a building
- A fire involving elevator equipment
- Water in the elevator hoistway
- A personal injury caused by elevator equipment
- A hazardous or unsafe event involving an elevator
Please call Delta back if the problem is resolved before the mechanic arrives. We will be pleased to investigate the cause of the problem, but it often cannot be found once the elevator is running normally again.
Before You Call:
- For an entrapment, verify that someone is trapped and identify them if possible.
- For doors not opening or closing, check for debris in the door tracks.
- For an unresponsive elevator, locate it to verify that the door is not blocked, and check that all key switches are in their proper positions.
- When communication light in hall is flashing, press the phone button in the elevator cab to try a reset.
Non-Emergency After-Hours Calls
Call us for the following and we respond as required:
- There is one elevator out of service in a building with two or more elevators.
- There is a malfunctioning elevator.
Our dispatch service will make contact with a Delta mechanic who will arrange a repair call. Be sure to leave a number where you can be reached.
Extra charges may apply for some calls—please see your maintenance contract for details.
