New Program for Elevating Devices Mechanic

For the past 15 years, Durham College has been the only non-union sector provider of the 720 hours of theoretical training required by the TSSA to become an A-Class Elevating Devices Mechanic.

Even at full capacity, this has limited the number apprentices who could become fully licensed elevator mechanics in Ontario.

In order to meet the needs of the industry, Mohawk College took the initiative to become a second provider and was recently approved by the Ontario Government.

Delta Elevator is donating two elevator packages for the state of the art hands-on laboratory, with Brock Elevator who will be doing the installation.

We are looking forward to the program’s first graduates!
