Ontario Fire Code

An Amendment to the Ontario Fire Code (O. Reg 213/07) will become effective July 1, 2019. The amendment relates to Firefighters elevators and stems from recommendations made in the Cunningham report on elevator availability. Residential building owners will be required to notify the local fire department and building residents when a Firefighters elevator is out of service for more than 24 hours.
